Governor Walz was elected promising that any pipeline going through Treaty lands was a “non-starter.” He then proceeded to support the Line 3 pipeline, which goes straight through Anishinaabe treaty lands without full consent. Hundreds of water protectors who came to the frontlines to uphold the treaties are facing escalated criminal charges, including felonies.

And Governor Walz – who is now running for reelection – is nowhere to be seen.
