Jacki Rickert leads the Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Fest’s parade up State Street to the Capitol on Sunday at 4:20. An eclectic group over 1,000 strong, petitioning for legalization of medical marijuana and hemp in Wisconsin, followed Rickert, a giant burning “joint”, and a huge cloud of smoke up to the Capitol where the group listened to music and gathered to smoke on the grounds. Rickert is the face behind the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act, legislation introduced into the WI Legislature to bring legal cannabis to the many patients that seek it’s medicinal and therapeutic properties. The long standing tradition went off without a hitch as no arrests were recorded during the 2 day event. Photo: Leslie Amsterdam
