Marie Martini, a member of The Raging Grannies of Madison, and Margit Moses, of Madison, were arrested by Capitol Police for singing in the rotunda today over the noon hour. The arrests took place during a rousing rendition of “Bring Back Wisconsin to Me,” which is sung to the tune of “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean.”

According to their website, The Raging Grannies of Madison “began as a project of the Madison chapter of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), first singing to the crowds of Madison WI anti-war protesters in the fall of 2003.”

They sing for “peace, economic & social justice and the environment…”

These women look like they are a real threat to the capitol. I hope the police ran face recognition with INTERPOL. I’m sure they are wanted terrorists!!
