On Monday, August 16 the Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center and the International Indigenous Youth Council organized an action at the Minnesota Governor’s Mansion and a march to Chase Bank. After an explanation of the meaning of the Nibi song from Sharon Day, Kalpulli Yaocenoxtli kicked off the march and filled the air with copal and beats as water protectors demanded the end to the funding and devastating practice of fossil fuel extraction.
