Wisconsin Uprising Marks One-Year Anniversary

February 15, 2012 by Lady Forward

Valerie Van Horn brought her crock pot to the rotunda on Tuesday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the beginning of the Wisconsin Uprising. Shortly after the capitol occupation ended last winter, the Department of Administration came up with a list of items “prohibited” from the capitol. A foamboard sign was placed on an easel at the capitol entrance, with “snakes, crock pots, massage beds, appliances, mattresses,” and, ironically, “easels” listed among many other banned items.

Of course, a year ago, weapons were not allowed inside the capitol. Now, anyone with a concealed carry permit can bring in a loaded gun.
