The Chalk That Broke Erwin’s Back

November 27, 2012 by Jason Huberty

The Capitol Police delivered the most recent civic achievement award in person ringing the door bell at Jason Huberty’s home at 4:40 pm.

The citation was issued for allegedly violating Administrative Code 2.07(2) “unlawful display” on November 16th, eleven days prior. The citation was not delivered by certified mail and marks the first home delivery since mid-September (a home delivery on election night was prompted by refusal of certified mail).

It also marks only the second ticket issued for chalking on the public sidewalk outside the Wisconsin State Capitol since August 11th. WCMC will be doing a follow up article documenting the frequent chalkings on the sidewalk outside the Capitol, which leads us to ask:

Was this the chalk that broke Erwin’s back?

This has no business happening in the US…

I still want to know why there is a separate armed police force in the Capitol. Aren’t the Madison police competent enough? Or maybe they just aren’t petty enough for Erwin’s taste.
