Hearing scheduled for Anti-Protester Bill: Tuesday, Oct. 22, 10:00 AM 330 Southwest

The Wisconsin Senate has scheduled a public hearing for SB 386, the Anti-Protester Bill being co-sponsored by five Democrats. 

Written by American Petroleum Institute lobbyist Marcus Bentley, SB 386 is based on ALEC “Infrastructure Safety” model legislation and makes trespassing on an energy provider’s property/easement or destroying their property a felony punishable by up to six years in prison.

The hearing will take place Tuesday, October 22, 2019 10:00 AM 330 Southwest at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

This bill will make activities such as the peaceful protests that took place at Standing Rock felonies.

Democrats Senators Bewley and Schachtner and Representatives Fields, Vruwink and Sinicki have signed on as co-sponsors.

If you cannot make the hearing, contact these legislators and urge them to withdraw sponsorship of this corporate legislation.
