On July 9, Raymond Auginaush, Alan Roy, Winona LaDuke and Frank Bibeau of the White Earth Nation came to the Minnesota State Capitol to speak directly to Governor Walz about stopping Line 3 and revoking the recent permission for Enbridge to use 10 times more water than originally permitted to drill under Minnesota’s rivers and streams (4.5 Billion gallons). They call about them to consult nation to nation and honor the treaties and the promises he made to consult with the sovereign nations within our state.
White Earth want the treaties honored, Line 3 shut down, wild rice protected, de-watering ended, federal permits revoked.
Call Walz- 651-201-3400. Tell him to meet with White Earth & #StopLine3.
On Thursday, July 15, we will join generations of women who defend the rivers to practice treaty rights and rally at the Shell River, where Enbridge is preparing to drill for the Line 3 tar sands pipeline.
As Enbridge builds Line 3 through Anishinaabe treaty land and 20+ river crossings including the Mississippi Headwaters, we continue to stand strong in our resistance. A society that permits violence on water and women is a society we stand to change.
Support Frontline Camps!
MN350 has launched a new water protector shuttle to help folks without transportation get up north and take action on the frontlines! Showing up in person will be crucial in the coming weeks as Enbridge ramps up dewatering, drilling and construction; now more than ever, frontline camps need supplies, funds and dedicated visitors!
There are several active camps for water protectors on the frontlines. Each camp plays an important role and has unique needs. This map has guides to the current camps. If you are wondering whether to stay home and make a donation or travel to a camp and help in person, in general it’s best to show up in person!
Urgently needed supplies:
Biodegradable soap
Tents
Sleeping bags
Sleeping mats
Near-daily direct actions on the ground continue to fill our newsfeeds and reinforce pressure on the Biden administration to Stop Line 3. Yesterday morning, water protectors with Camp Migizi shut down three construction sites in Carlton County, MN.
“We are all treaty people. We have a responsibility to honor and fight for Indigenous sovereignty.”
I will be there soon. Minnesota is my birth home. My Native land. Grew up on the Mississippi. My people.
