The Bayfield County Board of Adjustments met this morning to address Kristle KLR’s appeal of the denial of a conditional use permit to open a water bottling plant in Clover, Wisconsin near Lake Superior.

The BOA decided to accept legal briefs outlining if the BOA has jurisdiction over this matter or not, as well as of the conditional use permit, and what other legal issues need to be discussed.
A motion was made to allow a briefing schedule of August 9th to receive the briefings. The public has until August 16th to respond to those briefings. The hearing will be held on August 26th to allow for public input before the BOA decides if they have jurisdiction and where to go from here.
It was reported that the gentleman seated between Kristle and her attorney at hearing was Bob Safford, Boundary Waters Brands. He is who the attorney consulted with before, during, and after the meeting, and Bob passed messages and consulted with Kristle during the meeting. It has long been suspected that there is big money behind this “small” operation in Herbster.
